Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented **Principal Engineer - Mechanical & Ventilation **to join our team in NEOM. Parsons is providing Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services for the development of NEOM Infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. NEOM is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia. The site is near the Red Sea and the borders of Egypt, and Jordan. It will cover a total area of 26,500 km2 (10,200 sq mi) and will extend 460 km along the coast of the Red Sea.

Principal Engineer in Mechanical and Ventilation is responsible to lead, design, and oversee complex mechanical and ventilation systems projects. The Principal Engineer will be responsible for providing technical leadership, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and guiding junior engineers through design, analysis, and implementation processes. This role demands advanced knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, ventilation design, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.

**What You'll Be Doing**:

- Lead the design, analysis, and implementation of mechanical and ventilation systems, including HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and other building systems.
- Provide strategic guidance and technical expertise in the development of innovative solutions for ventilation and mechanical system projects.
- Oversee the preparation of detailed engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and calculations to meet project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and industry best practices for ventilation and mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Conduct feasibility studies and provide risk assessments for mechanical systems and ventilation designs.
- Perform complex calculations, simulations, and modeling to optimize system performance and energy efficiency.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, offering support in the development of their technical skills and professional growth.
- Lead the review and approval of system designs and submittals, ensuring quality control and adherence to project specifications.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends related to mechanical and ventilation systems and incorporate them into designs where appropriate.
- Prepare and present reports, proposals, and technical documents to clients, contractors, and stakeholders.

**What Required Skills You'll Bring**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or Chartered Engineer status (CEng) preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in mechanical and ventilation engineering, with a focus on HVAC systems, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Expertise in the design, operation, and optimization of ventilation and mechanical systems for various building types (commercial, residential, industrial).
- Strong knowledge of industry standards (ASHRAE, LEED, etc.), local building codes, and environmental regulations.
- Proficient in using engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and energy modeling tools (e.g., HAP, Trace 700).
- Proven track record of leading complex projects from concept to completion, including budget management and coordination of project teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

**What Desired Skills You'll Bring**:

- Experience in sustainability and energy-efficient building systems design (e.g., passive ventilation, green building certifications).
- Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes and software.
- Project management experience, including familiarity with cost estimation, scheduling, and resource management.
