**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and contribute to research projects and collaborate with other researchers.
- Conduct quantitative economic research on energy or macroeconomics relevant to policymaking in Saudi Arabia, other oil-exporting countries and their trading partners.
- Lead and mentor junior team members.
- Support KAPSARC’s advisory department and its consultants with analytical insights based on economic modeling and research findings.
- Write discussion papers, policy briefs, and other materials derived from research.
- Publish research outcomes in peer-reviewed journals and present them at conferences.
**Competencies & Qualifications**:
- Ph.D. in Economics, with a specialization in trade, environmental or energy policy.
- A proven track record of publications in top-tier peer-reviewed economics journals, including general-interest, macroeconomics, or leading field journals in energy economics and other influential peer-reivewed publications of reputable international organizations or think tanks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English, both writing and oral.
- Over 10 years of experience (after Ph.D.) working in macroeconomic and energy policy analysis, preferably within a research organization or an international organization.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and enhance economic models for policymaking.
- A good understanding of macroeconomic principles and the energy markets.
- Prior experience working on advisory or consultancy projects is a strong advantage.
