We’re looking for a dynamic Teaching Assistant, who will be primarily responsible for assisting the classroom teacher with the implementation of delivering the National Curriculum of England.
- Job Duties
- Demonstrate a commitment to the safety and security of children and young people (child protection)
- Assist the teacher in the delivery of lessons in accordance with the goals and objectives of a clearly defined and documented curriculum for students
- Demonstrate creativity
- Maintain a safe learning environment for students at all times
- Respond appropriately to the range of individuals needs and abilities within the class
- Supporting SEN students with their educational and personal development in a mainstream setting
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with barriers to learning, including those with autistic spectrum disorders (ASD), dyslexia, dyspraxia, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Assisting teachers in the preparation of learning materials and resources, including visual aids, audio resources, and ICT equipment
- Helping to maintain a safe and positive learning environment for all students, including those with diverse learning needs
- Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans for students with specific learning needs
- Encouraging and promoting independence and self-esteem among all students receiving support
- Be flexible and adaptable to changes with regards to distance learning if necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Headteacher and Head of Department
- Qualifications and Knowledge
- Previous knowledge of being a SENCO preferred.
- Experience and Skills
**Experience**:
- Prior experience working with students who need additional support
- Experience with G Suite/Microsoft Office
**Skills**:
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Good interpersonal skills in interacting with students, parents and colleagues
- Ability to supervise students in non-classroom settings
- Ability to work independently and within a team
