**General Veterinarian**

**Responsibilities & Requirements**:

- Provides examination, diagnosis, and treatment of animals’ medical issues.
- Promote preventative care by advocating and administering routine vaccinations, treatment plans, prognosis, and educating clients on positive diet, training, and lifestyle choices for pets.
- Prescribe medication and advise pet owners on nutrition, preventative and general care.
- Conduct laboratory tests on specimens, diagnostic imaging, and ultrasound tests to diagnose medical conditions and determine the best treatment.
- Performing Soft Tissue & Orthopedic surgeries, dressing and treating wounds, and prescribing medication.
- Improving patients’ dental health by performing checkups, and cleaning and extracting teeth.
- Administer vaccinations and euthanize patients.
- Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain medical records. Documenting and updating forms, disease reports, and others animal reports related.
- Supervise nursing care of post-surgical patients as well as clinic medical patients.
- Assist senior/chief veterinarian in defining and implementing an effective rabies control program, overseeing boarding and grooming services through the function of the boardingcoordinator.
- Perform other related duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
- Appropriate state licensure.
- Current valid license to practice in their country of origin.
- Current valid license and eligibility to obtain a valid license, to practice in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Minimum of three-year (3) years of practice in general veterinary disciplines, both surgical and medical.
- Experience conducting various types of surgeries, vaccinations, and health checks on animals.
- Ability to make prudent decisions regarding the welfare and well-being of animals.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to explain medical terms and conditions using simple language.
- Documented postgraduate or continuing education credits are desirable.
- Extensive experience in small veterinary medicine and surgery is required.
- Current inoculations for both tetanus and rabies.
- Strong affinity and patience for animals.
- Knowledge of medical equipment (e.g. X-Ray machines, radiography) and anesthesia procedures.
