We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Saudi Arabia for a: Inspection Engineer Job Purpose: This position is a unique opportunity to support the IGCC complex. The IGCC team supports the safe and efficient leadership, planning, commissioning, and start-up of process gas units, including our newly acquired gasification technologies. The complex is at various stages of Commissioning & Start-up (C&SU), Operation, and some limited construction. You will directly involve and support these stages, and you will report to the Asset Integrity & Inspection Lead and to the Inspection Supervisor. Your main duties will be to: Respond to field inspection requests from Operations & Maintenance on a daily basis. Expect a split of around 70% time in the field and 30% office Support overall countable preventative maintenance (PM) inspections for their process unit area - Initiate and provide recommendations for identified defects using SAP SAIF Initiate non-destructive testing (NDT) requests using SAP SAIF and monitor and review examination results to determine defects, corrosion, damage mechanism, mechanical damage, or blockages and make recommendations for repairs or replacement as required. Perform or monitor all types of equipment inspection, for both on-stream inspection (OSI) and shutdown (T&I) - Perform visual, welding, coating, CUI, dimensional inspection, etc. Witness hydrostatic and/or pneumatic tests on static equipment which includes the review of Hydrostatic, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams as well as Safety Instruction Sheets to assure that the correct pressure is used, the system is isolated properly and that relief valves are properly set, and installed Perform or monitor all tests and inspections on equipment that has been repaired or modified to assure that the equipment meets the manufacturer’s requirement Review the inspection history to summarize the integrity status of the plant equipment and piping systems. Perform the scoping work and prepare the job pack for process piping and in-service equipment based on engineering assessment and annual inspection plan. Plan and carry out fixed equipment/piping inspection via on-stream risk-based monitoring programs and downtime inspection activities including corrosion under Insulation (CUI) and corrosion under pipe support (CUP) on process piping and equipment according to the annual maintenance plan.Identify the areas of special concern and deterioration (e.g. Dead legs, injection points, mix points, and corrosion under insulation). Assign damage mechanisms and corrosion rates to equipment based on process and environmental conditions to specify inspection types to be implemented at the next inspection. Identify likely failure mechanisms and expected rates of failure and advise on system recommendations through report reviews. Ideally, you will have a bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Metallurgy Engineering with API certifications in 510,570 as a minimum with API 653 / 580, and AWS/CSWIP or equivalent Qualification and Level II certification of basic NDT techniques (UT, RT, MT, and PT) will be an added advantage. You will have minimum of 15 years of experience in the in-service and shutdown/turnaround inspection of plant fixed equipment/piping, in an operating Plant. Experience in gas plants and hydrocarbon plants preferred You will have Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Oil and Gas Industry You will have Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Inspection Corrosion field You will have Minimum of 5 years’ experience in operations of Inspection Management Systems and Corrosion Monitoring systems. You will have operating plant inspection experience in inspection of static equipment, Reactors, Pressure Vessels, Piping, Boilers, Furnaces, Columns, Heat Exchangers, Storage Tanks etc. Knowledge of ASME Section I / II / V / VIII / IX, TEMA, API, and ASTM code.
