Job purpose

The barista is responsible for supporting the servers in the preparation of specialist hot drinks and cold drinks at counter service operations. Preparing mis-en-place for the daily operation, dispensing, restocking, cleaning and maintaining the cafe area and assisting in serving customers form part of the role

Duties and responsibilities
- Prepare specialist hot and cold drinks, following company standards and specifications
- Assisting Servers in delivering service to the guests and drinks dispense
- Stocking and maintaining a fully operational drinks service point
- Looking after and cleaning drinks making equipment
- Preparing the MEP necessary for the daily operation
- Have extensive knowledge on all products served
- Follow food safety procedures
- Keep working area clean and organized
- Carry out opening and closing procedures according to the checklist provided
- Record wastage accurately
- Monitor stock levels and assist the management in placing orders
- Provide a positive and friendly guest experience by interacting with patrons
- Follow all company processes and procedures
- Represent the company to the highest standard possible, striving for perfection

Work Experience

Minimum 1 years’ experience as a professional barista in a high volume/quality venue

Skills Required

Very good spoken English, moderate - high level written English ability

Hands on, hard working in a physical environment

Ability to have positive interactions with customers

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Computer literate, must have experience using POS system

Excellent customer service skills

Extensive beverage knowledge

Good communicator and team player

**Qualifications**:
F&B or Hospitality qualification preferred

Barista course / qualification preferred to support experience
