Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist

Responsible for performing and monitoring of day to day operations and following up the progress of the program with Antimicrobial Stewardship leaders.
**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
1. Encourages multidisciplinary collaboration within the health system to ensure that antimicrobial agents' prophylactic, empirical, and therapeutic uses result in optimal patient outcomes.
2. Works within the formulary and therapeutics committee and its subcommittees to ensure that the number and types of formulary antimicrobial agents are appropriate for the patient population served.
3. Operates a multidisciplinary, concurrent antimicrobial stewardship program that uses patient outcomes to assess the effectiveness of antimicrobial
- use policies throughout the health system.
4. Performs clinical responsibilities within related specialty of Pharmacy as assigned.
5. Generates and analysing quantitative data on antimicrobial drug use to perform clinical and economic outcome analyses.
6. Facilitates safe medication management practices for antimicrobial agents by utilizing efficient and effective systems to reduce potential errors and adverse drug events.
7. Documents of stewardship related interventions in the ASP specific system.
**Education**:
Master’s Degree, or Pharm.D./Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy with accredited residency program (PGY1 or equivalent), is required.
**Experience Required**:
Four (4) years of related experience with Master’s Degree, Pharm.D/ Bachelor’s Degree with accredited residency program, or Six (6) years with Pharm.D. / Bachelor’s Degree is required.
**Other Requirements(Certificates)**:
- Specialty residency in infectious diseases and/or specialized training in antimicrobial stewardship is preferred.
- Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
