Role description:
The Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and implementing best practice procurement strategies to manage vendor relationships and ensure efficient and effective procurement of goods, services, and works. This role identifies and develops essential procurement processes and commercial documentation that align with and include all necessary capital program best practice governance elements. In this role, the incumbent collaborates with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and suppliers to drive procurement excellence, achieve cost savings, and mitigate risks across the entire Program.
Role accountabilities:
- Develop procurement strategies, policies, and procedures to support the objectives of the program ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Conduct market research, supplier evaluations, and supplier performance assessments.
- Collaborate with the commercial and project management teams to define procurement requirements, specifications, and scopes of work, ensuring alignment with project objectives and quality standards.
- Lead and advise on procurement plans, schedules, and budgets, optimizing procurement processes and timelines.
- Manage contract negotiations with suppliers
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in procurement on mixed use building developments as part of an internal consultancy
- At least 7 years experience working on large scale projects based in the Middle East
- Experience in managing end-to-end procurement processes, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
