WSP, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy, is seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Mechanical Inspector (Saudi national) to join our team for an infrastructure project in Madinah, KSA. As a Mechanical Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that mechanical installations and systems comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
**Your new role, what's involved?**
- Conduct inspections of mechanical installations and equipment on the infrastructure project site in Madinah, KSA, to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Perform visual and physical inspections of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and firefighting systems, to verify quality, safety, and functionality.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and other project documents to understand project requirements and scope of work.
- Monitor and document progress of mechanical works, identifying any deviations, defects, or non-compliance issues, and communicate findings to project management and relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to address technical queries, resolve issues, and ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
- Conduct testing and commissioning activities for mechanical systems, coordinating with testing agencies and ensuring proper documentation of test results and commissioning reports.
- Participate in project meetings, inspections, and site walkthroughs as required, providing technical expertise and support to project team members.
- Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, reports, and documentation in accordance with company procedures and project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and promote a culture of safety on the project site.
- Assist in the training and development of junior inspectors and provide guidance on mechanical inspection techniques and procedures.
**We'd love to hear from you if you have**:
- Saudi national is required.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical inspection, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
- Thorough understanding of mechanical systems and components, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and firefighting systems.
- Familiarity with international codes and standards related to mechanical installations, such as ASHRAE, NFPA, ASME, and ASTM.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with project stakeholders.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Experience with inspection tools, instruments, and testing equipment.
