**About the Job**:
An opportunity has arisen for a Health and Safety Manager to join the Health and Safety team in Jumeirah Jabal Omar Pe-opening Hotel. The main duties and responsibilities of this role:

- Provide input for the development of the Group HSE processes and procedures and monitor their implementation from the SBUs providing insight and guidance for the resolution of any potential issue.
- Develop and handle the execution of preventive maintenance plan for all safety equipment and facilities, assess their efficiency and operational ability and proceed to the required activities in order to keep them in best working condition and ensure high level of safety for guests and employees.
- Support the provision of technical HSE advice and guidance to Management and other employees of the Group in order to keep them aware of the latest development regarding HSE laws, standards and regulations and their impact on the Group.
- Assess the risks associated with implementation of HSE policies and procedures by carrying out risk assessments and special studies on safety matters and recommend corrective action in order to mitigate the risks in line with best practice and local regulations.
- Develop and upon approval monitors the implementation of the HSE audit plan in order to assess the compliance of SBUs operation with the corporate HSE standards and SOP’s.
- Analyse the Incident and Accident reports retrieved from the SBUs, the audit findings or any other HSE information, in order to identify trends, nature and source of incidents and propose actions that will improve the HSE efficiency and culture within the Group.
- Keep updated of local and international changes in the legislation and monitor market trends and good practices in order to promote changes in all the processes, procedures and standards of the Group and support the level of HSE in the Group at the highest standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and special studies for all activities of the Group to identify and evaluate the HSE risks and provide recommendations on corrective action in order to mitigate the risks in line with best practice and local regulations.
- Manage the relationships with all third-party visitors, vendors, and suppliers related to health and safety to ensure compliance with the Group’s set Health & Safety policies, procedures, and related regulations.
- Recommend some improvements to the HSE policy, implement approved departmental policies, processes and procedures, and provide instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner while delivering a quality service to guests and maintaining standards of excellence.

**About you**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science discipline or equivalent from an accredited and renowned University.
- Relevant HSE-related Certifications and Accreditations.
- 5 to 8 years of HSE experience, preferably with an international hospitality company.
- Experience of working in a regional capacity and a solid understanding of cultural and market differences within the relevant region.
- Excellent knowledge of key HSE regulations, policies and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of environmental and health safety laws and regulations in the operating countries.
