**Position Summary**

Jubail is one of Bechtel’s most remarkable achievements—a city built from the sand up, requiring vast resources and logístical planning on an unprecedented scale. It the biggest civil engineering project in modern times—and it's getting bigger. Bechtel has managed the Jubail project, located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, since it began in the mid-1970s. Bechtel serves as the Management Services Contractor (MSC), or “owner’s representative” for our client, the Royal Commission (RC). We are the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) managers, managing design submissions from local AE firms, and overseeing the actual construction work being performed by local contractors and sub-contractors in Jubail and Ras-Al-Khair Industrial Cities. In June 2021, Bechtel’s contract with the Royal Commission was renewed for another 5 years with work focusing on building new residential communities, iconic buildings/ bridges, major site preparation, commercial buildings, mosques, schools, hospitals, sports facilities, clinics, universities, utility services and infrastructure (electrical sub-stations, lift stations), roads and highways, port & pipeline expansions, and more.

**The work location can be Jubail or Ras-Al-Khair.**

**Work Location: Ras-Al-Khair**

**The work location for this position is in Ras-Al-Khair which is located about 90 KMS north of Jubail Industrial City. You will be required to commute Jubail - Ras-Al-Khair - Jubail daily using the available transportation facility /shuttle bus service. The accommodation will be provided at Jubail Industrial City.**

**Major Responsibilities**:

- ** **Review and comment on design and drawing packages prepared by A/Es.
- Coordinate between disciplines and departments and return review comments on submittals by the A/E’s and Industries for new contract packages and plants or plant expansion designs.
- Coordinate changes in design to support construction.
- Review and ensure quality of A/E submittals.
- Utilize computer and computer codes to review designs performed by A/E’s.
- Provide support to Construction Department and disposition of field changes by issuing DCNs and SCNs.
- Review, update and prepare revisions to Guideline Specifications, Manuals and Design Criteria.

**Skills and Qualifications**:
**Essential Technical**:

- College/University graduate with B.S in Engineering preferably Mechanical with 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in the analysis and design of steel structures, temporary works and coordination of multi-discipline designs and teams including piping design or plant layout.

**Essential Behavioral**:

- ** **Strong communication skills, verbal and written
- Ability to work on independent basis with minimum supervision.
- Capable of dealing and interacting with challenging people and situations.

**Preferred Technical**:

- Sufficient knowledge of computers to monitor schedule of work and track completion of outstanding design issues.
- Knowledge of pipe corridors, crossover structures and temporary works design
- Shall demonstrate familiarity with industry standards for design, installation, maintenance and inspection of petrochemical pipelines.
- Shall have sufficient knowledge of computers to monitor CAD Designers and be able to input data in the database management systems of the Pipeline Corridors.
- Shall be familiar with NDT procedures and welding inspection of pipelines.
- Shall have general knowledge of pipe corridors, crossovers, and intersection, and loop structures.
- Shall be familiar with latest leak detection techniques for petrochemical pipelines.
- Shall be familiar with the fire fighting materials used on petrochemical pipelines.
