Assists in several types of care in the field of Clinical Psychology. Conducts research, therapeutic sessions, family and patient counselling, patient interviews, and assessment tests, and designs and implements behavior modification programs. Collaborates with physicians and other specialists in a team approach to develop, implement assessment, and intervention programs.
**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
1.Assists the consultants in providing high quality of psychological care to patients in general, including Organ Transplant, Oncology Services, and Consultation Liaison Services, including the provision of appropriate consultative services as requested by other inpatient and outpatient consultants, in accordance with standards of medical care laid down by the Hospital.
2.Complies with all the Hospital’s standards and policies pertaining to acceptance, eligibility, admission processes, consultation, daily patient care, operating room, outpatient practices, and patient discharge.
3.Registers detailed medical history, creates a plan for patient management, and follows up for discussion with the treatment team headed by a consultant.
4.Prepares for and participates in consultant’s and specialist’s clinic rounds as per policy and documents findings in medical records.
5.Ensures appropriate patient preparation for procedures. Assists the consultant as indicated in the signed clinical privilege form.
6.Follows up on investigation results for inpatients and outpatients and modifies intervention accordingly.
7.Attends specialty clinics, outpatient clinics, and related meetings.
8.Keeps abreast with all the latest techniques and developments, especially in the field of Clinical Psychology, following and implementing them on a selective basis to improve technical standards.
9.Participates in clinical, basic, and translational research projects and publishes papers in accordance with Research Advisory Council Policy in order to advance knowledge, improves the quality of post graduate education, and contributes to the national and international recognition of the Hospital.
10.Assists the department in the development and implementation of techniques and practices that help maximize the utilization of all resources within the department and across the Hospital.
11.Abides by the current Hospital and medical staff bylaws, all relevant rules, regulations, and policies and keeps updated of any changes that might occur.
12.Participates in self’s and other’s education, training and development, as applicable.
13.Follows all Hospitals related policies and procedures.
14.Performs other related duties, as assigned.
**Education**:
Bachelor’s or Associate Degree/Diploma in Psychology is required.
**Experience Required**:
- Grade 08:
Two (2) years of related experience withBachelor’s or four (4) years with Associate Degree/Diploma is required.
- Grade 09:
- Four (4) years as a Psychology Technologist at KFSH&RC
- Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years
- Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME] is required.
**Other Requirements(Certificates)**:
Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
