Steam Boiler Specialist

**Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Boiler Operation & Performance Management**:

- Operate and monitor steam boilers, burners, and auxiliary equipment to ensure they meet the required steam load, pressure, and temperature parameters.
- Adjust firing rates, verify combustion quality, and ensure optimal fuel-to-steam conversion efficiency.
- **Routine Inspection & Preventive Maintenance**:

- Conduct regular inspections of boiler components such as the shell, tubes, refractory materials, and water chemistry systems to detect early signs of wear, corrosion, or scaling.
- Perform preventive maintenance on control systems (e.g., actuators, pneumatic valves, control valves), and implement timely repairs to avoid unscheduled downtime.
- **System Controls & Instrumentation**:

- Calibrate and maintain instrumentation, including pressure gauges, thermocouples, flame scanners, and level controls.
- Work with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to monitor system performance and adjust parameters in real-time.
- Troubleshoot issues related to actuators, control valves, and pneumatic valve assemblies to ensure accurate and responsive valve control.
- **Process & Safety Equipment Management**:

- Oversee the proper operation of critical safety components such as Pressure Relief Valves (PRVs), PRV stations, and safety interlocks.
- Conduct blowdown procedures to manage water levels and remove impurities through blowdown lines and blowdown valves, ensuring consistent water chemistry and preventing scale formation.
- **Water Treatment & Quality Assurance**:

- Monitor feedwater quality and work with softener systems, chemical dosing pumps, and de-aerators to maintain appropriate water chemistry.
- Coordinate with water treatment specialists to ensure the longevity of boiler internals and maximize efficiency.
- **Documentation & Compliance**:

- Maintain accurate logs of system performance, maintenance activities, and inspection results.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards (e.g., ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code), and safety best practices.
- Prepare technical reports, performance summaries, and recommendations for system upgrades or energy efficiency measures.
- **Team Collaboration & Training**:

- Collaborate with plant operators, maintenance technicians, and facility managers to support continuous operation and improvement.
- Provide training and guidance to junior technicians on boiler operation, safety protocols, and best practices.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- **Education**: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Thermal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- **Technical Knowledge**: Extensive understanding of steam boiler design, operation, and maintenance practices. Familiarity with burners, feedwater pumps, PRV stations, pneumatic and control valves, blowdown systems, softeners, and associated instrumentation.
- **Experience**: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with industrial boiler systems, including troubleshooting and optimizing boiler performance.
- **Skills**:

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&ID drawings, technical manuals, and schematics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for diagnosing performance issues.
- Competency in using diagnostic tools, PLC interfaces, and related software.
- **Attributes**: Safety-conscious mindset, strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Pay: ﷼3,000.00 - ﷼6,500.00 per month
