**Position Overview**:
An experienced Geologist/Geotechnical Expert with a strong background in various geotechnical testing and analysis methods. The Geologist will have hands-on experience conducting on-site tests and interpreting geotechnical data in line with local standards. A strong understanding of alternative methods and industry best practices is also required.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform and oversee **Pull-out Tests** specifically in the context of solar PV systems to determine the load-bearing capacity of ground-mounted structures.
- Conduct **Piezocone Penetration Tests (CPTu)** to assess soil stratification and identify subsurface characteristics.
- Execute **Dynamic Cone Penetration Tests (DCP)** to evaluate the strength and density of subsurface materials.
- Carry out **Electrical Resistivity Tests** to determine the resistivity of subsurface materials, especially for grounding systems.
- Perform **Thermal Resistivity Tests** to measure the thermal characteristics of the ground, critical for cable installation in solar PV systems.
- Supervise and manage the drilling of **Boreholes** to collect soil samples for detailed laboratory analysis.
- Conduct and evaluate **Trial Pits** and **Test Pits** to assess shallow subsurface conditions and verify soil consistency.
- Perform **Refraction Seismic Tests** to analyze subsurface conditions and detect variations in material properties.
- Coordinate and execute other relevant **geology and geotechnical tests** as needed for project-specific requirements.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
- **5+ years of experience** in geotechnical testing and soil analysis, preferably within the solar PV industry or construction projects.
- Ability to interpret and analyze geotechnical data, create detailed reports, and provide insights for project decision-making.
- Familiarity with specialized equipment and tools related to geotechnical testing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt testing methods based on site conditions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
