Parsons is now hiring a **Senior Environment and Sustainability Manager **who can support a team of professionals overseeing every phase of large scale projects to the highest standards.

We need our Environment and Sustainability Managers to be versatile as well as have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills. In this role you provide environmental and sustainability management leadership. You will recruit, interview, and evaluate prospective employees as well as hire, offer personnel development, conduct performance evaluations, counsel employees, takes corrective actions (as required), and approves terminations. One of your roles will include ensuring that new employees receive orientation on company policies and procedures.

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Lead the planning and initial site set-up and production of the environment & sustainability plans, integrated with the wider engineering and logistics plans to give a city-wide approach.
- Develops standard operating procedures for environment & sustainability of the program and ensure that QIP follow them so there is operational consistency across the program.
- Coordinate with other delivery partners (Jacobs and Mace), as well as QIC and all existing contractors, and future planned procurement of major contractors.
- Plan and implement environment & sustainability strategies and approaches in accordance with the completed and approved environment & sustainability plan.
- Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas, leading in the fields of environment and sustainability.
- Leads on unusually complex environment & sustainability problems and provides solutions that are highly creative, in coordination with site and engineering leads.
- Facilitates partnerships with key stakeholders/organizations impacted by the program.
- Assigns work to employees, oversees, and tracks the completion of work assignments.
- Interviews and selects personnel for assignment as required.
- Maintains clear and concise work standards and goals; provides training and development; completes performance evaluations, conducts employee counselling, takes corrective action as necessary.
- Ensures adherence to all corporate, contractual, ethics and safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

**PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- 4-year degree in Engineering and preferred Chartered status (or equivalent) with minimum 12-15 years’ experience in mega construction projects.
- Proven experience of working within complex environment & sustainability projects.
- Safety Qualification / Awareness Training.
- Very strong communication skills in English.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

- Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
- Proven experience within complex major project environments, preferably in region.
- Ability to work in and lead teams. Ability to follow through. Ability to clearly deliver objectives and meet targets in a complex stakeholder environment.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization (dual reporting). Ability to interact with an influence senior-level management. Ability to consult, motivate, and negotiate effectively with client groups, co-workers, employees, vendors, and contractors.
- Must function effectively under time constraints, schedule workload to meet deadlines, and have the ability to prioritize.
- Strong Contractor Management skills.
