Painting Technician

**BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION**:

- Cleaning surfaces before layering paint.
- Maintaining technical equipment for the job and ensuring that they are in working order.
- Utilizing different painting techniques based on the nature of the surface.
- Utilizing special safety equipment such as painting goggles.
- Ensuring proper ventilation after the paint is applied.
- Polishing metallic surfaces.
- Performing preventative maintenance tasks.
- Erecting scaffolding or setting up ladders safely to perform tasks above ground level.
- Safely dispose of all waste that’s generated during this process.
- Remove old layers of paint from surfaces without destroying them.
- Ensure that all safety standards are maintained throughout each job.
- Use your specialized knowledge to determine the best types of paints and painting techniques to use on a specific job.

**EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS**:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Formal training in industrial painting is preferred
- Proficiency with technical machinery
- Experience painting a variety of surface types.
- Maintain full attention to training and instruction
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good communication and interaction skills
- Knowledge of material and equipment prep.
