Assists washman in operation of machines to wash linens, including uniforms, curtains and draperies.
**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
1. Demonstrates correct hand washing technique
2. Sorts and documents weight of soiled linen.
3. Assists the washman when loading machines.
4. Assists the washman in tending the machines during wash cycles to ensure correct functioning
5. Unloads the machines at the end of cycle and delivers linen for further processing as required
6.Loads, operates and unloads tumble dryers. Removes and empties lint from collection trays.
7.Assists with specialised operation such as isolation wash. Send items with heavy stains to the spotting technician.
8. documents and reports of any musculoskeletal complaints injuries on monthly basis
9. Follows all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures.
10. Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable
11. Performs other related duties as assigned.
**Education**:
Intermediate School Education required.
**Experience Required**:
No related experience is required.
**Other Requirements(Certificates)**:
Must be able to lift heavy objects.
