Description:

- JOB SUMMARY- Oversee and overall responsible for all vessel operations within Alblagha Dammam shipyard including floating docks and berths
- Ensure the successful docking/undocking shifting of all vessels entering and leaving Alblagha Dammam Shipyard, this will include exceptional time management skills aligned to the vessels and operational requirements.
- Monitor Docks actual condition and prepare specifications and budget for maintaining the docks within classification. This includes, hull, machinery.
- Be the liaison between DSY and Port Authority for the planning and execution of all shiftings/docking/undocking operations. If required initiate meetings with all stakeholders (DSY/Port

Authority/others) to timely discuss particular movements, berthings or dock operations prior to execution.
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Ensure that Safety, Quality & Environment requirements of the yard are strictly met.
- Responsible for the safe dockings/undockings/shiftings of all vessels in DSY.
- In co-operation with the Pilots/Movement Master examines the particulars of the vessels draft, ballast distribution, condition of mooring equipment, the personnel and equipment to be deployed.
- He prepares the Dock to receive the vessel, dock block arrangements, calculations as required, arranges the position of the Cranes, mooring trolley cars, stoppers etc., and ensures that the proper numbers of Riggers are on board the vessel in accordance with safe Operating Procedures and departmental Operating Procedures.
- Constantly monitor docks for any damage, wear and tear and report any issues immediately. This includes the docks in totality, i.e. including hull, cranes, machinery, powering, services, etc.
- Follows the yard’s Docking schedule regarding Dock Works, hold daily meetings with your team and supervisors for updates and progress of work related to any dock repair, vessel repair, loading and unloading of vessels that can affect the time management of the activity and dock berthing allocation.

- Ensure safe working within the department and that a good positive attitude towards safety is adopted with regular notifications, alerts and toolbox talks.
- Attend on board vessels and dry dock visits in order to assist in ongoing dock operations. Any outstanding work to be assessed and the effect of remaining works on the docking plan.
- Arrange all manpower, materials and equipment in readiness for docking /undocking - Correct manpower distribution as per safe operating procedures.
- Communicate with ship owner representative / Masters or other as applicable authorities for docking and undocking operations and hold pre-docking/pre-undocking meetings. Assess and mitigate any applicable risk or adjustment in the plan or loading conditions required.
- Review and approve dock drawings and organize block arrangements. Make dock blocks inspection and sign off as per drawings provided with owner representatives or other applicable authorities.
- Prepare specification/plan and budget for dock maintenance as applicable to maintain docks within classification or other requirements.
- Follow up for closure of maintenance items as per specification and findings.
- Assess any overtime requirements for activities with safety, cost control and budget in mind.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE- Maritime college and ships masters’ ticket/degree in Naval Architecture and/or Marine Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 8 years’ experience in a ship repair yard with similar role, with good knowledge of ship repair and dock repair.
- Speak read and write English fluently.
