Role Summary

Responsible for the complete design of a company product or system from technical roadmap to architectural designs. Defines appropriate platforms and system specifications. Determines core server infrastructure, capacity planning, storage requirements and networking protocols. Develops technical, tactical and strategic plans, systems definition and feasibility determination.

Key Responsibilities

Design O-RAN solutions to meet customer requirements and challenges working with RAN system engineering and PLM team.
- Develop comprehensive and detailed solution design documents covering all aspects of the solution, product/feature, and present these to the customer and SE team
- Responsible for RAN dimensioning and capacity planning for various variants.
- Co-ordinate requirements from sales for various needs from customers
- Work with platform team for impact of platform
- Model traffic pattern and estimate impact on capacity
- Work with partners and 3rd party vendors in to close on requirements and build winning end-to-end solutions
- Work closely with PLM and SE to ensure implementation meets customer needs
- Assist Sales Engineering and Business Development teams in creating technical proposals for all business opportunities
- Assist with RFP/RFI responses
- Represent Mavenir in technical face-to-face customer meetings and forums
- Develop a deep understanding of Mavenir’s competitive products, developing positioning papers to put Mavenir into a winning position
- Attend occasional off hour conference calls with Mavenir offices in US, Europe and Asia
- Some domestic and international travel may be necessary

Job Requirements

Specific Skills/Experience:

- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a system engineer or solution architect in the RAN
- Good understanding of O-RAN and 3GPP specs.
- Experience with 4G, 5G technologies including mMIMO, mmWave, SA/NSA, FDD/TDD options.
- Experience with servers, memory, storage and radio planning
- Experience with virtualization/containerization in public, private cloud
- Experience with various traffic models and deployments

- Ability to work and succeed under limited supervision and guidance
- Ability to communicate with all parts of the company, adapting to different personalities and situations
- Ability to work in a very fast-paced and constantly changing environment
- Ability to work flexible hours to facilitate working with Mavenir employees at other sites
