The Riyadh Metro Project (public rail transport) is the biggest project being undertaken in KSA with an overall budget of US$ 22b, and is one of the largest public civil engineering projects in the region. The BACS Consortium, led by Bechtel, is designing and constructing Lines 1 and 2 (of a total of 5 lines), comprising 63.3km of line with 39 stations (of a total of 176.8km 85 stations) serving a metro area of approximately 1,815km2 in total. The Bechtel consortium contract value is approximately US$ 10b. The project programme is 5 years.

Riyadh has a population of 5.7 million, and of the 7.4 million daily commutes less than 2% of the population use public transport. This project will transform this bustling city into an easily accessible and transport efficient hub.

**Role Overview**:
The role of the claims scheduler, with a good grounding in planning and forensic schedule analysis, is a key part of a small team of claims specialists working closely in the preparation and/or assessment of claims for additional time and cost on a very demanding and challenging project. Reporting to the Subcontracts Claims Manager and in collaboration with other claims specialists on the team, the Claims Scheduler is seen as a key team member in achieving our challenging goals.
- Qualification in a construction discipline, engineering or quantity surveying, with requisite experience, including field based experience.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in planning, construction and engineering.
- An effective communicator, oral and written.
- Fully conversant with P6 8.3 with a minimum of 10 years Primavera related experience
- Expert skills in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Career experience must come out of the construction industry, including a good civil engineering exposure (horizontal, underground and bridge/viaduct construction; experience in rail and TBM tunneling an advantage)
- Able to carry out document research in a logical, structured manner. The project uses ACONEX.
- Able to interface with construction team personnel (field) in the validation of evidence (background stories).
- Highly conversant with delay impact analysis methodologies and with window analysis processes.
- Familiar with concepts such as concurrent and parallel delays, excusable/non-excusable, compensable/non-compensable; case law and reference text (e.g. Pickavance, AACE, SCL) knowledge will be an advantage.
- This is not a management position; this is a position for a hands-on specialist.
