**Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities**:
- Administers a wide variety of therapeutic services to various patient types (e.g. adult/pediatric/ /neonates), i.e. airway care and suctioning, bronchioal hygiene, lung hyperinflation, intermittent and continuous medication delivery, continuous aerosol and supplemental oxygen therapy, non-invasive ventilation, conventional and high freqeuncy ventilaiton, ventilator adjuncts (e.g., recruitment maneuvers and prone positioning), inhaled nitric oxide delivery, heliox delivery, and assisting with therapeutic bronchoscopy.
- Administer a wide variety of diagnostic services to various patient types (e.g. adult/pediatric/ /neonates), i.e. blood gas analysis and sampling, capnography, bedside pulmonary function testing, miscellaneous diagnostic testing (e.g., apnea testing for brain death, Viral/RSV culture - nasopharyngeal lavage), and assisting with diagnostic bronchoscopy.
- Administer a wide variety of miscellaneous monitoring servcies to various patient types (e.g. adult/pediatric/neonatal) during: monitoring during percutaneous tracheostoy, monitoring during intra and inter hospital transports, monitoring airway during conscious sedation, monitorng during cardioversion or cath lab intervention, monitoring at high risk neonatal delivery, monitoring duirng early mobilization of a ventilator patient, participatin in multidisciplinary rounds, spontaneous breathing trials and screening.
- Participate as a member of the code blue, code purple, NRP and rapid response team.
- Prepares and maintains a list of patients on respiratory care services.
- Identifies and reports safety events per hosptial policy.
- Follows hospital and departmental equipment disinfection procedures.
- Documents all pertinent data in the patient’s medical record and other information systems following the completion of services.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all departmental forms, flow charts, logbooks and their proper usage.
- Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly.
- Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients’ needs are met and that hospital policy is followed.
- Attends education in-service programs and reads professional journals to maintain professional competency. Obtains appropriate hospital-specific education and training.
- Assists shift personnel in the completion of activities in other care areas.
- Participates in departmental and hospital performance improvement activities.
- Works as per work schedule including shifts & on-call duties as assigned.
- May act as a shift “charge therapist” and/or preceptor to new employees and/or students/interns.
- Provide patient/ family education that is related to health learning needs.
- Respects patients and their families to promote a patient-centered care culture.
- Participates in and supports quality improvement and patient safety activities as an individual or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Performs additional job-related duties as assigned.
**Job Qualifications and Experience**:
- Minimum or required:
- BSc - Respiratory Care
- Saudi Commission for Health Specialties License.
- BLS.
- Preferred:
- ACLS
- PALS
- NRP
- RRT credential
**Experience**:
- Two to Four years.
