Project Buyer

We are seeking a Project Buyer, who is responsible for ensuring that the company selects the most appropriate goods and services on the basis of price, quality and delivery for General Supplies. In essence the Buyer acts as the key contact point for all commercial issues relating to the portfolio of suppliers under their control. Implementation of Procedure & Policies.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
Education/Certifications
B.S. Degree level education in Business Administration or Engineering.
MCIPS preferred.
From 10 to 15 years purchasing experience in the Industrial sector.
Experience/Specific Knowledge (Minimum experience any specific knowledge required for this position)
Knowledgeable about buying practices with demonstrable technical and negotiation skills.
Understanding of MRP or ERP systems ideally SAP
Experience of projects purchasing best practice in the Industrial sector with demonstrable skills of leadership and teamwork.
Key behavior traits include attention to detail, problem solving, self reliance, communicative skills, robust character with a flexible attitude. Ability for research & Data analysis.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Area 1: Business Process
- Prepare, conclude, and maintain transactional and spot buying services for General Supplies.
- Area 2: Purchasing Process
- Perform processing of RFQ s, POs, Bid evaluation, release orders for General Supplies.
- Area 3: Customer requirements
- Perform and manage supplier cost estimations as required by end user.
- Area 4: KPIs
- Monitor overall transactional & spot buying activities against budget, schedule and KPI s and attribute and provide corrective solution assistance where appropriate.
- Area 5: Vendor Evaluation
- Monitor supplier quality and efficiency relative to spot bought materials.
- Area 6: Saving
- Identify saving opportunities in the transactional activities.
- Area 7: Customer expectation
- Purchase all customers needs goods at the right time, at the right quality and at the right price.
- Area 7: Cataloguing
- *Coordinate and/or perform technical/commercial evaluation where required.
