Poverty Alleviation Strategist

We are seeking a Poverty Alleviation Strategist to join our team at the Islamic Development Bank. This role is pivotal in contributing to the development and execution of the Bank's policies, strategies, and action plans concerning poverty alleviation initiatives.

As a key member of the Cooperation & Capacity Development Department, this strategist will play a crucial role in shaping the direction of poverty alleviation initiatives, thereby contributing to the Bank's mission of promoting inclusive and sustainable economic development.

Key responsibilities include:

• Capacity Gap Analysis: Contribute to establishing a framework for assessing the capacity gaps of microfinance institutions concerning their financial, social performance, and poverty alleviation efforts.
• Partner Identification: Participate in identifying and evaluating potential partners with expertise in program execution and technical assistance.
• Monitoring and Evaluation: Oversee the progress and performance of poverty alleviation initiatives, ensuring they effectively achieve their goals of development and empowerment.
• Knowledge Sharing and Communication: Summarize insights from poverty alleviation initiatives to improve operational processes and guideline updates.

Required skills and qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, International Development, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in programs related to poverty alleviation, economic empowerment, sustainable development, Islamic microfinance, market development for the poor, private equity, program design & appraisal, or investment banking.

Skills and necessary knowledge include good knowledge of the economic and social challenges in Member Countries, knowledge of poverty alleviation approaches and frameworks, business development and client relationship skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
