At AL-AYUNI Investment and Contracting Company, we are seeking a highly skilled General Ledger Accountant to join our team.

  1. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for entering journals for daily transactions on the system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.

  2. The successful applicant will also be tasked with performing monthly depreciation calculations and entries, as well as reviewing financial documents for accuracy and reconciling accounts.

  3. We require someone who can reconcile bank accounts with company records and pass correction entries, analyze financial data, and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.

  4. A strong understanding of regulatory standards and ability to generate financial reports is essential for this role.

  5. The selected candidate will work closely with other departments to ensure accurate records and provide accounting support as needed.

Self-Management

  1. As a key member of our team, you will be expected to define your own performance goals at the start of the year in consultation with your reporting manager and monitor progress towards achieving these goals.

  2. You will be responsible for taking ownership of your own learning agenda by identifying development needs and working towards bridging gaps through various means.

  3. Understanding relevant competencies and displaying them effectively is crucial for this role.

  4. You will be required to stay up-to-date with relevant professional developments, new techniques, and current issues through continued education and professional networks.

  5. Your ability to handle additional tasks as per business needs is also essential.

  1. You will be expected to follow all relevant company and department policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

  2. Compliance with safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls is also mandatory.

  3. You will be required to comply with all relevant information security practices and standards to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.

Required Academic Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance is required. 5+ years of experience in construction general ledger accounting, CPA, GAAP certificates preferred.
