About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team at Lufkin Gears. As a Mechanical Assembler, you will play a critical role in assembling mechanical components, operating overhead cranes, and working within precise limits to ensure high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assemble components such as compressors, motors, pipes, and baseplates per assembly drawings.
2. Operate overhead cranes to move equipment.
3. Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
4. Perform assembly/disassembly, adjusting, and installing mechanical components to meet tolerance and product operating requirements.
5. Perform basic mathematical calculations and use general hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
6. Perform testing such as hydrotest and pneumatic test.
7. Perform alignment for Centrifugal Compressor and electrical motor with gearbox.
8. Comply with all applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental directives and regulations.
9. Have ownership for completion of QC Sheets, manufacturing forms, and completion work forms.

Requirements

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. 3+ years' experience in mechanical activities such as assembly of pipes & equipment, testing.
3. Knowledge of packaging manufacturing operations.
4. Experience in alignment for Centrifugal Compressor and electrical motor with gearbox.
5. Knowledge of the product: Centrifugal Compressor, Gas Turbine, Electrical Motor, Gearbox.
6. Knowledge of how to read and understand packaging drawings.
7. Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective gloves, safety glasses, etc.
8. Deftness and attention to detail.
9. Proficient in English.
