Job Title: Regional Data Center Engineering Manager

At Amazon Web Services Ltd. Regional Headquarter Co., we're seeking a highly skilled Regional Data Center Engineering Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Data Center Engineering Operations team, you will be responsible for managing data center engineering operations across three Amazon Data Center availability zones.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of facilities managers and engineers responsible for ensuring 100% availability of mechanical and electrical services.
  2. Performance Benchmarking: Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance.
  3. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party providers and their facility staff, ensuring all work performed is in accordance with established practices and procedures.
  4. Critical System Management: Operate and manage routine and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, and building monitoring systems.
  5. Data Center Capacity Planning: Develop and implement data center capacity plans to ensure optimal utilization of resources.
  6. Project Management: Assist in the design and build-out of new facilities and projects to increase current facility efficiency.
  7. Collaboration: Work with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  8. Quality Service: Deliver high-quality service and ensure all customer demands are met.
  9. Procurement: Procure DCEO-related expenditures.
  10. Asset Management: Manage assets and inventory.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
  2. Experience: Relevant work experience in data center or another mission-critical environment, with a strong understanding of mission-critical systems.
  3. Leadership: Experience in people management, managing people managers.
  4. Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of critical facility equipment such as generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, UPS, and DRUPS.
  5. Vendor Management: Experience managing vendor relationships.
  6. Data Center Experience: Experience working in data centers.
  7. Master's Degree: Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant discipline (preferred).
