About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for a highly skilled Pipeline Corrosion Engineer to join our team at Asterix Communications. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing corrosion mitigation plans for operating pipelines, conducting integrity reviews, and providing recommendations to prevent failures and improve the integrity of field piping and pipelines.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Corrosion Mitigation Plans: Create and execute plans to prevent corrosion in operating pipelines, including chemical treatment, coating, cathodic protection, and material selection.
  2. Conduct Integrity Reviews: Evaluate the integrity of field piping and pipelines, identifying potential corrosion issues and providing recommendations for mitigation.
  3. Failure Investigations: Investigate pipeline failures, identifying root causes and providing recommendations to prevent future failures.
  4. On-Stream Inspection (OSI) Programs: Develop and maintain OSI programs for field piping, ensuring optimal inspection and corrosion management.
  5. Facility Improvements: Review design packages for potential and new projects, providing comments on corrosion monitoring and mitigation plans, including material selection and installation of Corrosion Monitoring Systems (CMS).
  6. Collaboration with Inspection Teams: Work with inspection teams during plant shutdowns and turnaround inspections (T&I) for evaluation of internal and external corrosion issues and coating assessments.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in materials, metallurgical, chemical, mechanical, corrosion engineering, or an MSc in corrosion engineering.
  2. Certifications: NACE Pipeline Corrosion Integrity Management (PCIM) Technologist certification, NACE Internal Corrosion Technologist certification, or NACE Senior Internal Corrosion Technologist certification.
  3. Experience: Minimum of 15 years' experience in the oil & gas industry, with at least 5 years' experience in pipelines inspection, corrosion, and integrity management, including Inline Inspection (ILI) data evaluation and direct assessment examination.
  4. Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of internal and external corrosion mechanisms common to upstream oil and gas pipelines, corrosion mitigation techniques, and corrosion monitoring techniques. Familiarity with government regulations and industry codes and standards (NACE, API, ASME, etc.).
