This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join our organization as a Senior Tax Compliance Officer. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Compliance & Audit subfunction in all tax compliance and audit related matters for the region.

Main Responsibilities

  • ">

  • You will be responsible for preparing corporate income tax returns, WHT returns, and VAT returns for review by the Firm Tax Compliance & Audit Lead, ensuring submission deadlines are met.

    ">

  • You will also reconcile tax to statutory accounts, prepare WHT returns, and deliver internal analysis/reports to the Firm Tax Compliance & Audit Lead, flagging key risks, exposures, etc.

    ">

  • In addition, you will work with the wider Firm Tax team and local Tax LoS Specialists to understand tax laws and regulations in various jurisdictions within the Middle East.

  • You will also be responsible for guiding transactions within the wider OneFinance team to optimize the management of tax liabilities.

Audit

  • You will provide inputs for all tax audits conducted by Firm Tax/Global Team/External Auditors.

Other Responsibilities

  • ">

  • You will organize and conduct special analysis as required, assist with effective tax training and appropriate support for the business, and consolidate, analyze, and challenge tax report inputs from LoS/local teams/other finance teams as appropriate.

  • You will also be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and solve complex tax challenges, refine tax policy and procedure documentation, and develop strong working relationships and interface with all stakeholders across the ME Group.

  • You will also be actively involved in and a positive influence on team recruiting, development, training, and retention.

Requirements

">
  • ">

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field is required.

    ">

  • Certified Tax Accountant, Certified Practicing Accountant, or similar is preferred.

    ">

  • Bi-lingual English/Arabic is required, with fluency in written and spoken English & Arabic.

    ">

  • 3+ years of tax experience is required, with previous experience with corporate tax, withholding tax, VAT, and payroll.

    ">

  • An understanding of other taxes would be an advantage.

  • Understanding of general/international accounting standards and practices.

  • High level of analytical and quantitative ability to perform complex financial and transactional tax and accounting functions and ad hoc reporting functions.

  • Ability to adhere to procedures, controls, and policies for functional areas of responsibility.

  • Organization, thoroughness, eye for detail, time management skills, and proactivity.

  • Excellent people management skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with professional resources in accounting areas.
