Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Inspection Professional to join our team at SGS.

This role involves conducting thorough inspections of mechanical equipment, pipelines, and components used in the gas compression and upstream pipeline infrastructure.

  • Verify compliance with project specifications, engineering drawings, and relevant standards (e.g., ASME, API, ASTM).
  • Review and verify the quality of mechanical materials, welding, fabrication, installation, and commissioning processes.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical inspection, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, identifying any discrepancies or areas requiring corrective action.
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Assist in the review and approval of method statements and quality plans.
  • Perform dimensional inspections and verify alignment, fit-up, and tolerances for mechanical components.
Requirements:
  • B.S degree in Engineering in a respective inspection discipline with at least 4 years of experience in the relevant inspection discipline OR 2 years of industrial/technical college diploma plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant inspection experience.
  • Experience in mechanical inspection, preferably within the oil and gas or industrial construction sectors.
  • CSWIP or AWS certification Mandatory.
