This exciting opportunity exists to lead the protection and management of Aboriginal cultural heritage and historic heritage on public land across Gippsland. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in safeguarding and promoting the rich cultural heritage of our region.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional who has a strong background in Cultural Heritage Management, Archaeology, or Anthropology. You will be responsible for leading a small team of specialists and working closely with various stakeholders to identify, protect, and manage cultural heritage sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of specialists in the identification, protection, and management of cultural heritage places, objects, and values.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to cultural heritage management.
  • Maintain relationships with traditional owners, GLAWAC, and other key stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with the Regional Forest and Planning Team, District staff, Aboriginal Partnerships team in RECAFP and First Peoples and State Relations.

This is an ongoing position with flexible work arrangements available. The work location is within the Gippsland Region, and the successful candidate will be required to undertake pre-employment screening, including a Declaration and Consent form and a National Police Check.
