Job Description:

The Senior Network Administrator will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the Batterjee Medical College's network infrastructure. This includes creating a robust and scalable IT environment that supports business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Configuration: Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
  • Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex issues to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime.
  • Security Measures: Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls.
  • Device Administration: Oversee the administration of routers, switches, load balancers, and other network devices.
  • Cybersecurity Collaboration: Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
  • Network Upgrades: Plan and execute network upgrades, patches, and migrations.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
  • Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning and recommend improvements to optimize network efficiency and scalability.
  • Unified Communication Support: Provide support for VoIP, video conferencing, and unified communication solutions.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior network administrators and IT support staff.
  • Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers for network-related services and troubleshooting.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Disaster Recovery: Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning for network infrastructure.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, CCNA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-15 years of experience in network administration and infrastructure management.
  • Networking Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VLANs, SD-WAN, etc.).
  • Security Tools: Hands-on experience with network security tools, firewalls (Fortinet, Sophos, Palo Alto, etc.), and VPN technologies.
  • Network Devices: Hands-on experience with network devices and systems from HPE Aruba (Switches, Wireless controller, ClearPass, Airwave).
  • Enterprise Equipment: Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco, HPE Aruba, or other enterprise networking equipment.
  • Cloud Networking: Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure) is a plus.
  • Monitoring Tools: Experience with monitoring tools like SolarWinds and OpManager.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
