The Role

We are seeking a skilled Reservations Sales Agent to join our team. As a key member of our reservations department, you will be responsible for actively converting bedroom enquiries into confirmed business while providing an exceptional and personalized experience to guests.

You will respond timely to communications from guests, travel agents, and leads concerning reservations arriving by mail and telephone; prepare confirmation letters and promptly process any cancellations, modifications, and guest's requests.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Exceptional Guest Service: Anticipate and understand guest needs and requirements; adopt a proactive service orientation to address needs before they are expressed, and adapt communication skills to interpret verbal and non-verbal cues.
  • Process Reservations Efficiently: Input and update reservations from all booking channels, ensuring that all relevant information is included in the booking and that any special requests or requirements are communicated to relevant departments.
  • Sales-Oriented Attitude: Possess a sales-oriented attitude, maximizing sales, occupancy, and room rates as well as upselling all aspects of the hotel.
  • Knowledge of Hotel Facilities and Amenities: Keep up-to-date with hotel facilities and amenities, ensuring the hotel benefits are communicated to the guest at the time of reservation; possess a complete knowledge of all suites, hotel facilities, and promotions as well as the local area and closest competitors.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Record of any specific requirement in terms of reservation requests, amenities, and reviews reservation policies and procedures periodically, identifying means of increasing productivity and efficiency within the reservations office.
  • Work Effectively with Colleagues: Work closely and communicate effectively with the Front Office and Sales Team to ensure smooth workflow and enhanced guest experience.

Qualifications and Standards

  • A Graduate of Hospitality Management, Tourism, and Travel, or other related courses.
  • Fluent in written & spoken English and/or Arabic an advantage.
  • Experience working with Opera PMS System.
  • Professional telephone etiquette.
  • Attention to details and able to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and continuously strive to better his/her skills and increase his/her knowledge.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Previous experience in a similar capacity with a minimum of 1 year is an advantage.
  • Willing to work shifts during weekends and public holidays.
