Senior Project Manager

ROLE

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless transition from pre-contract to post-contract phases. This will involve close liaison with all stakeholders and providing ongoing support to pre-contract divisions. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of projects during the post-contract period, in accordance with contractual requirements and documentation. This will include the management of site staff and associated teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical and Contract Administration Tasks
  1. Act as the Engineer under the Contract, appointed by the Employer, if required under the Consultancy Agreement;
  2. Draft, review, and issue contractual correspondences, ensuring all information is accurate and in accordance with the contractual documentation;
  3. Chair and minute Project Weekly/Fortnightly Technical Meetings;
  4. Chair and minute Project Weekly/Fortnightly Progress Meetings, attended by all parties, including the Client's Representative, if required under the Consultancy Agreement;
  5. Prepare and issue all Engineers' Instructions, if required under the Consultancy Agreement;
  6. Prepare and issue Payment and Completion Certificates, in accordance with the Contract requirements and project cost consultants;
  7. Work with Senior Project Engineers and Project Engineers to review all material and document submittals, including the Contract Programme, labour forecasts, cash flow charts, method statements, drawing submissions, etc.
  8. Final sign off of all submittals, as the signatory for the Engineer;
  9. Manage the relationship between the Site and Head Office Design teams, ensuring timely and technically accurate issue of required drawings, additional information, technical response to project RFI's, etc.
  10. Track and ensure local Authority approvals required by the Contractor/Consultants are signed off and cleared, in line with the Construction Programme;
  11. Prepare and issue all project non-conformance reports (NCR's) and close-out;
  12. Work with Senior Project Engineers to technically review any Contractor variation claims and advise the validity to the cost consultant and Client;
  13. Review any Contractor extension of time claims and advise technical validity.
Client Management
  1. Provide full Client liaison to ensure all issues are dealt with promptly and effectively;
  2. Prepare and issue Monthly Progress Reports, as required;
  3. Programme and prepare Architectural mock-ups for approval by both the Consultants and Clients, to ensure timely approval and procurement of all materials.
Practice Related Responsibilities
  1. Oversee all Contractual and Key Project issues across the practice, including major claims, project delays, client changes, etc., and provide assistance to individual Project Team members to satisfactorily address key issues facing the practice;
  2. Assist in the development of Procedures and Processes, in coordination with the Site Teams, to improve efficiency and performance relating to Contract Administration and Supervision project activities;
  3. Manage Site Teams, including resource allocation and tracking, to ensure resources are utilised efficiently and staff are not overloaded;
  4. Manage Red Pen Reviews and Workshops on upcoming projects, (reviews typically take place at either Schematic or Detailed Design Stage, to ensure Constructability comments are fed back into the designs);
  5. Organise monthly visits to various sites to understand current works in progress and self-improvement;
  6. Conduct yearly staff appraisals for Supervision Team members and follow up to ensure any staff issues raised are addressed;
  7. Organise Continued Professional Development (CPD) seminars, training, etc., to ensure continued learning and development of all Supervision staff.
