Carpentry Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Ennismore. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of the physical plant, structure, utility services, equipment, fixtures, and furnishings for our hotel facility and associated buildings.

1. Preventive Maintenance: Ensure the application and execution of preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
2. Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to both personal and environmental safety protocols.
3. Inventory Management: Manage stock levels to ensure timely completion of tasks and minimize waste.
4. Tool and Equipment Management: Control and monitor tools, equipment, and materials to complete jobs efficiently and safely.
5. Woodworking Expertise: Operate various woodworking equipment, including table saws, radial saws, planers, jointers, drills, and other specialized tools.
6. Repairs and Maintenance: Check and repair metal and timber windows, doors, and minor roof repairs, as well as construct frameworks for concrete pouring.
7. Quality Control: Examine wood surfaces for defects, such as nicks, cracks, or blisters, and ensure high-quality finishes.
8. Installation and Assembly: Install door handles, locks, hardware, flooring underlay, insulating material, and other fixtures.
9. Additional Responsibilities: Perform deck and blind/curtain repair, furniture repair, and other tasks as assigned by management.

1. Experience: At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related building environment.
2. Education and Training: 2+ years of building carpentry experience, vocational/technical training, or apprenticeship in carpentry and/or construction.
3. Skills and Abilities: Highly skilled in all aspects of finish carpentry, ability to access high areas using a ladder, and work authorization in the U.S.
4. Physical Demands: Extended periods of standing, walking, climbing stairs, crouching/kneeling, bending, and twisting, as well as carrying/lifting up to 50lbs.
