Job Summary:

The Fireman position is a critical role that requires knowledge of fire safety laws, emergency response procedures, and fire systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in operational efficiency by reporting to the fire prevention specialist.
  • Prevent and combat fires to protect lives and property.
  • Safely operate firefighting tools and equipment.
  • Provide medical care in emergency situations.
  • Analyze hazardous situations and implement quick solutions.
  • Teach and participate in training classes and drills.
  • Maintain a clean environment.
  • Manage tool and equipment inventory.
  • Report mechanical failures or issues.
  • Update records and maintain duty logs.
  • Attend required training courses.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Hold Firefighter 1 and 2 NFPA 1001 certification.
  • Possess Hazmat Awareness/Operational NFPA 1072 certification.
  • Hold First Aid certification.
  • Have at least 3 years of relevant experience as a Fireman in a fire and rescue service.

Required Skills:

  • Effective use of radio equipment.
  • Proficiency in fire communications system and equipment operation.
  • Expertise in emergency medical procedures.
  • Able to supervise others effectively.
  • Understanding and following written and oral instructions in English.
  • Excellent oral communication with coworkers and the public in English.
  • Calmness and effectiveness under heavy workloads and emergencies.
  • Quick and accurate information gathering in emergency situations.
