About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team at Almoosa Specialist Hospital. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Registration and Screening: Receive, screen, and register patients in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accurate and complete information is collected.
- Vital Signs and Assessments: Take and record vital signs, screen for fall and pain, and perform basic patient assessments to identify potential health issues.
- Patient Education: Provide personalized education to patients and families on oral health, treatment options, and post-procedure care.
- Assisting Physicians: Assist dentists and other healthcare professionals with routine medical procedures, as appropriate to training and competency.
- Environmental Services: Maintain the cleanliness and serviceability of unit facilities and equipment, reporting any defects or maintenance needs to the Charge/Dental supervisor.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Give appointments to patients for follow-up visits, as instructed by the clinic physician, and arrange for transportation as needed.
- Inventory Management: Order and maintain inventories of supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels to support day-to-day clinical and administrative operations.
- Team Collaboration: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other members of the healthcare team, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
- Adherence to Policies: Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, knowing the proper chain of command at all times.
- Continuous Education: Participate in Dental Assistants activities and continuous education programs, as advised, to stay up-to-date with best practices and industry developments.
- Infection Control: Comply with standards of infection control, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
- Interpreting Services: If fluent in Arabic, assist with interpreting for non-Arabic speaking physicians when necessary.
- Additional Tasks: Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of your knowledge, skills, and duties.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Training and Competency: In-house training and competency in dental assisting procedures.
- Education: Undergraduate degree in nursing or a related field.
Professional Experience:
- Clinical Experience: One year of clinical experience in a dental or healthcare setting.
Specialized Skills:
- Independence and Autonomy: Ability to work independently within the hospital, with minimal supervision.
- Communication Skills: Excellent English and preferably Arabic verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Skill in the use of computers and related software applications.
- Motivational Skills: Strong motivational skills to promote a positive work environment.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, promoting collaboration and open communication.
- Certifications: BCLS licensed.
Competence and Attitude:
- Patient Registration and Documentation: Knowledge of patient registration and documentation procedures.
- Medical Terminology: Knowledge of medical terminology and concepts.
- Clinical Operations: Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures, including patient assessment and referrals.
