Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior O&M System Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Giza Systems. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's infrastructure solutions.

About the Role:

  1. Familiarize yourself with our company's mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
  2. Collaborate closely with other departments to align your work with business goals.
  3. Articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  4. Forecast future network needs and plan for capacity expansion.
  5. Design and implement new infrastructure solutions, including servers, storage, and operating systems with required applications.
  6. Plan and execute infrastructure and operating systems upgrades and migrations.
  7. Ensure that infrastructure solutions align with organizational goals and requirements.
  8. Manage and maintain operating systems server, storage, and applications.
  9. Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software.
  10. Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization.
  11. Provide technical support to end-users for infrastructure-related issues.
  12. Troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
  13. Document and share knowledge with the support team.

On-Call Responsibilities:

  1. Be prepared to respond to urgent infrastructure issues outside of regular working hours as needed.

  1. Prioritize tasks efficiently.
  2. Respond promptly to incidents.
  3. Optimize system performance continuously.
  4. Track relevant metrics.
  5. Maintain fine-tuned systems.
  6. Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.

  1. Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation on solution configurations and operational procedures.
  2. Prepare detailed reports on incidents, system performance, and solution effectiveness with root cause analysis.
  3. Stay current with the latest technologies and industry developments.

Technical Expertise:

  1. Experience in system administration includes Windows, Linux, SCCM, DHCP, VMWARE, MS Exchange, MS Azure, DNS, 365, Ali Baba cloud, Oracle Cloud, backup administration, Virtualization system, Active Directory.
  2. In-depth knowledge of server administration and troubleshooting VMware ESXI.
  3. Proficiency in Cloud AWS and Azure administration.
  4. Understanding of network protocols and network infrastructure.
  5. Strong grasp of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  6. Hands-on experience with server and storage technologies, such as virtualization and cloud computing, Domains, Active Directory, Cloud solutions, and ITSM tools.
  7. Awareness of IT best practices and tools.
  8. Proven troubleshooting skills.
  9. Possession of relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, Microsoft Azure, MCSA) is a plus.
  10. Knowledge of databases, VM backups, Data Domain, Tape Libraries.
  11. Expertise in backup and restore skills (using Veeam, Veritas).
  12. Client backup configuration requirements for backup agents.
  13. Good understanding of administration and reporting using reporting tools.
  14. Backup software integration with widely used applications in the industry (e.g., backing up MS Exchange, SQL, Oracle, VMware).
  15. Understanding of backup and recovery concepts and troubleshooting.
