Design Engineer Role Overview

Candidates must share sample projects, including 3D PDFs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop accurate associative solid models of products using SolidWorks software and maintain project documentation.
  2. Create new designs, revise existing ones, and update bills of material (BOM) for our products.
  3. Prepare engineering change requests detailing design modifications, update drawings/models/BOMs as needed, and facilitate the approval process.
  4. Research and collaborate with vendors to source products meeting job requirements and obtain quotes for specialized components.
  5. Author technical documents, test procedures, installation guides, and process documents.
  6. Maintain effective communication with Engineering department staff, program management, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, external vendors, and customers.
  7. Work under general supervision while interpreting design specifications and drawings.
  8. Provide guidance and work leadership to junior drafters as needed.
  9. Ensure designs meet product specification guidelines for form, fit, function, quality, producibility, cost, and schedule.
  10. Support out-of-hours and weekend routine tasks and resolve any issues that may arise.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  1. Must have 5-10 years of experience focusing on Solid Works and Creo.
  2. Experience working with Multi-National Companies is advantageous.
  3. Candidate should have extensive expertise in Solid Works software.
  4. Familiarity with additional CAD or design software is a plus.
  5. Able to take concepts through design, prototyping, and final product development.
  6. Experience designing with Solid Works for various industry applications. Knowledge of patent writing is preferred.
  7. Strong documentation skills for projects, along with project management and time/deadline management abilities.
  8. Able to work effectively in a team environment.

Job Location: Saudi Arabia. Candidate should be willing to relocate to Saudi Arabia.
