Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Facilities Engineer to join our team as a Data Center Operations Specialist. This role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation in a dynamic data center environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical competencies, theory, and generic mechanical room infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors on-site to ensure work performed meets established standards.
  2. Maintain performance benchmarks and prepare reports on critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  3. Generate Change Management requests and Incident Management tickets as directed.
  4. Contribute to documentation relevant to business and facility operations.
  5. Assist with rack installation and provision of power/cooling.
  6. Become involved with routine maintenance and emergency services for critical systems like switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and cooling equipment.
  7. Assist with the design, implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new facilities.
  8. Manage facility assets and participate in Construction & Operational Meetings.
  9. Ensure Work Order compliance and review contractual SLAs.
  10. Interface with Infra Ops teams for day-to-day operational requirements.
  11. Resolve infrastructure engineering or services issues.
  12. Deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
A Day in the Life

Daily activities include:

  1. Monitoring alarms and systems managing power, cooling, and fire suppression in the data center.
  2. Coordinating vendor work on-site to maintain equipment uptime.
  3. Supporting other teams and sites during events and planned works.
  4. Handling rack installations and powering up equipment.
  5. Monitoring and facilitating the handover of new equipment.
  6. Sharing knowledge and supporting new team members.

Requirements
  • High school or equivalent diploma.
  • 1-4 years of experience in electrical and mechanical competencies, theory, and generic mechanical room infrastructure.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a complex environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and motivated individual with good communication skills.
  • Ability to work 10 hour shifts as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline with Professional Certification.
  • Experience in operations of critical facilities, heavy industry, or data centers requiring in-depth knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
