Job Description:

The Building Design and Development Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing construction projects and infrastructure systems. This role involves working on various projects, from conceptual design to completion, ensuring that all work is completed according to technical specifications, regulatory standards, and project timelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Develop and manage project plans, including conceptual design, feasibility studies, and detailed designs.
  • Site Management: Supervise site activities and ensure compliance with project plans and safety regulations. Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure smooth progress and resolve on-site issues.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with other engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure project success. Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.
  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare cost estimates for upcoming activities, monitor costs for running activities, estimate and quantify required materials and prepare look-ahead plans.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges in the project and develop mitigation strategies to address them. Ensure that all risk management practices are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Sustainability and Environmental Considerations: Incorporate sustainable design principles and consider environmental impacts in all project plans and decisions.
  • Communication and Reporting: Prepare and present reports, proposals, and project updates to clients, stakeholders, and management. Maintain clear and effective communication with all parties involved in the project.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare and review technical documentation, including design calculations, specifications, and reports. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date.
