Airports Architecture Specialist

In this exciting new role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with airport operations teams to understand functional requirements and ensure architectural designs enhance operational efficiency and passenger experience.

About the Role:

  • Lead the architectural design process for airport facilities, including terminals, airside and landside structures, concourses, and ancillary buildings.
  • Develop conceptual designs, detailed architectural drawings, and construction documents that meet both the airport's operational needs and aesthetic goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure designs meet operational, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Oversee and manage architectural teams and coordinate with other engineering disciplines, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in line with quality standards.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure alignment with project goals, schedules, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development of sustainable design practices and green building certifications (LEED, BREEAM, etc.).
  • Ensuring compliance with local, national, and international regulations, including building codes, accessibility standards, and airport-specific requirements.
  • Presentation of design proposals, progress reports, and updates to stakeholders, including airport authorities, regulatory bodies, and project teams.
  • Response to feedback and adjustment of designs as necessary to meet requirements and address concerns.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in architectural design, with at least 3 years in leading airport-related projects.
  • Proven experience in designing and managing large-scale infrastructure projects in the aviation industry.
  • Expertise in architectural design principles, building systems, and construction processes.
  • Familiarity with airport-specific architectural requirements such as terminal design, airside and landside facilities, and passenger flow.
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and sustainability practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Licensed Architect (RA or equivalent).
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP or equivalent).
