Role Overview
The Sushi Chef is an essential member of our culinary team, responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes that exceed our customers' expectations. This involves preparing traditional Japanese sushi rice, chopping, slicing, and filleting various kinds of fish, and placing orders for supplies as needed. The ideal candidate will be able to customize orders according to preferences and food allergy considerations, ensuring that all ingredients used in dishes are of the highest quality.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare traditional Japanese sushi rice and maintain high-quality standards.
- Chop, slice, and fillet various kinds of fish while adhering to food safety protocols.
- Place orders for supplies as needed and maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Customize orders according to customer preferences and food allergy considerations.
- Liaise with other kitchen sections to ensure efficient food service.
- Control food waste by maintaining correct stock levels and following proper rotation methods (FIFO).
- Maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation.
