Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our team at Bayut | dubizzle. As a member of our group legal team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring legal compliance and providing guidance on various aspects of our business in KSA.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Commercial Contract Management: Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts, agreements, and transactions, including supplier/vendor contracts, licensing, software and consultancy agreements, and general business and office-related contracts;
  • Business Operations Support: Deal with day-to-day operations of the KSA business with regard to risk and general corporate and commercial issues;
  • Departmental Legal Support: Provide legal support to various departments, offering guidance on legal matters related to business development, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives;
  • Policy Development and Improvement: Draft, curate, and continually improve the company's legal precedents and policies while keeping other departments informed and educated on their contents and any key developments;
  • Research and Regulatory Compliance: Conduct legal research and keep up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting the company's commercial activities;
  • Litigation Strategy and Management: Manage external legal firms as required in relation to litigation matters, including litigation strategy, dispute resolution, and court appearances;
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Evaluate potential litigation risks and provide proactive advice to mitigate legal exposure;
  • Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of legal actions, settlements, and court proceedings;
  • Employee Relations and Dispute Resolution: Assist in resolving employment disputes and represent the company in negotiations with employees, unions, or regulatory authorities when necessary;
  • Regulatory Updates and Compliance: Stay updated on labour laws and regulations to ensure company policies and practices remain compliant;
  • Compliance Initiatives and Monitoring: Monitor changes in laws and regulations that impact the company's operations, handle regulatory issues, and provide guidance on compliance efforts;
  • Audit and Compliance Assessment: Conduct legal audits and assessments to identify and address compliance issues, working closely with relevant departments to implement necessary changes;
  • Risk Management and Mitigation Strategies: Assess legal risks associated with various business activities and advise on risk mitigation strategies;
  • Policies and Procedures Development: Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to minimise legal exposure and promote compliance within the company;
  • Record Keeping and Organisation: Maintain accurate and organised legal records and documentation;
  • Reporting and Updates: Prepare regular reports and updates for senior management and the Group General Counsel on legal matters, the status of ongoing cases, and key legal risks.
