Job Overview

Air Conditioning Technician Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot all electrical and mechanical refrigeration systems, including freezers, fridges, ice makers, fan coil units, chillers, etc.
  2. Predominantly maintain air-conditioning and refrigeration systems within the hotel premises.
  3. Evaluate system performance by inspecting components and monitoring operational efficiency.
  4. Verify proper door closing mechanisms on walk-in coolers/freezers (door gaskets/latches).
  5. Examine defrosting systems and automate ice maker operation for optimal performance.
  6. Attend to various maintenance requests from departments across the hotel.
  7. Routine cleaning of fan coil units and air-handling unit filters is essential.
  8. Assess air-conditioning and chill water system functionality.
  9. Collaborate with engineering colleagues to identify potential issues in air-conditioning and refrigeration systems and implement corrective measures.
  10. Promote environmentally responsible practices by minimizing CFC emissions.
  11. Overhaul and upgrade air-conditioning/refrigeration equipment and systems as required.
  12. Regularly check refrigeration and oil levels, performing major repairs when necessary.
  13. Communicate effectively with the Engineering Storekeeper regarding part procurement.
  14. Conduct work in accordance with country-specific technical regulations and safety standards.
Requirements

Education, Qualifications & Experiences:

A diploma in building services engineering or a related field, coupled with prior experience in A/C technician roles and expertise in operating and maintaining equipment, is ideal. Fluency in English and proficiency in troubleshooting and rectifying subsystems are crucial.
