Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Material Planning Specialist to join our team at Executive Services Bureau. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement and supply chain processes for our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receives and reviews technical specifications and requests for materials, ensuring accurate and timely processing of the Bill of Materials (BOM), Material Takeoff, and Purchase Requisition.
  • Identifies raw materials and fasteners specifications required for ordering, either from drawings or project specifications.
  • Allocates stock materials and fasteners into projects prior to ordering, if matching materials are available in stock.
  • Ensures efficient and proper selection of optimized lengths of materials to minimize wastage.
  • Transfers all details in the Purchase Requisition System for approval and coordinates with the Engineering department for technical clarification.
  • Checks and verifies supplier compliance with technical requirements through Technical Delivery Condition (TDC) and ARM documents.
  • Provides recommendations to the Purchasing department for suitable suppliers of materials.
  • Expedites Purchase Orders from the purchasing department and secures drawings from suppliers as required.
  • Releases Purchase Requisitions for materials and fasteners to be ordered and negotiates with suppliers for the best deal/prices.
  • Expedites delivery of materials to ensure timely delivery as per agreed contract.
  • Prepares and updates the weekly 'Material Status Report' showing the percentage of materials available at different dates throughout the project lifespan.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil & Mechanical Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of working experience as Material Planning Engineer or similar position in the Steel Fabrication Industry, preferably in Transmission and Telecommunication Towers.
  • Excellent communication skills in English Language.
  • High proficiency in the use of MS Office Applications.
  • Familiarity with Oracle-based ERP is an advantage.
  • Keenness to details and high degree of flexibility.
