We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architectural Design Manager to join our team at Nesma. As a key member of our Engineering Department, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and guidance to our Architectural Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide expert technical guidance and support to the Engineering Team on architectural matters, ensuring that all projects are completed to the highest standards.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with the Design Team Leaders and Design Managers to prepare Engineering Department outputs, including design development, design detailing, and As-Built drawings.
  • Advisory Support: Offer advisory support to other parts of the organization, leveraging your deep expertise to address complex technical matters.
  • Database Development: Develop and institutionalize Nesma's Engineering database, know-how, controls, and capabilities.
  • Staff Development: Provide support for the professional development of staff, ensuring that their work is on track and aligned with project schedules.
  • Design Criteria Review: Review and study Design Criteria and Specifications of Projects to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor Drawing Schedules, CADD, and Engineering Hours, and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
  • Architectural Proposals: Study different architectural proposals for projects, ensuring that they meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Shop Drawings: Monitor Shop Drawings preparation and release to clients for approval.
  • Problem-Solving: Suggest solutions for problems arising from the site, ensuring that they are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • ISO Compliance: Ensure that ISO procedures are followed correctly for the Engineering Department.
  • Team Organization: Propose Architectural Team Organization Charts for each project in coordination with the Head of Engineering Department.
  • Project Scope Definition: Consult with the Head of Engineering Department to determine the scope of proposed projects and architectural design services required.
  • Budget Management: Account for the Architectural unit's budget, working closely with the Head of Engineering Department.
  • Building Classification: Study Building Classification and Architectural Life Safety Requirements based on International Codes for NFPA101 and IBC.
  • Submittal Schedules: Propose Architectural Submittal Schedules for all projects in close coordination with Team Leaders and Design Managers, based on Construction Schedules.
  • Deadline Management: Ensure that the Architectural team meets Architectural deadline submittal dates.
  • Candidate Evaluation: Review submitted Architects CVs, conduct interviews, and submit evaluation reports to the Head of Engineering Department.
  • Internal Coordination: Conduct periodical Internal Coordination meetings with the Architectural Team to monitor Engineering progress for each project and comply with Engineering Submittal Schedules.
  • Team Queries: Reply to all daily Architectural Unit team queries and questions, addressing Architectural problems and taking decisions in consultation with the Head of Engineering Department.
  • Meetings and Coordination: Conduct periodical Meetings with projects Structural and MEP Engineers for Architectural Shop Drawings Coordination purposes, and coordinate with Procurement Unit Heads for Vendors Drawings and Material Selection.
  • Delay Prevention: Take all necessary proactive actions to avoid any delay on Architectural submittals.
  • Material Finishes: Monitor Material Finishes Presentations and ensure proper engineering-procurement coordination.
  • Work Distribution: Ensure productive work distribution and work allocation to all Architect Team Leaders, Architects, and Cad Operators, in line with Engineering Schedules and Organization Charts.
  • Team Evaluation: Evaluate the Architectural Unit Team and recommend necessary trainings to enhance its potential productivity, submitting it to the Head of Engineering Department.
  • Site Inspection: Conduct site inspection visits, site coordination meetings, and site as-built take off along with the Architectural Team based on Projects requirements.
  • Meeting Minutes: Elaborate Minutes of Meetings for all Coordination meetings with Site and Procurement.
  • Site Support: Assist the Site Construction Teams during Projects construction and ensure that all their site queries are answered by the allocated Lead Architect Coordinators.
  • RFPs: Draft RFPs Requests For Proposals for selected contracted architects/engineers design offices, based on established project criteria.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Design Software: Proficient in InDesign, AutoCAD, and other relevant design software.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership skills and ability to motivate and guide a team.
