About the Role
MBC Group is seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our quality assurance team. As a key member of our front-end and platform development teams, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality user-facing products and services.
Main Responsibilities
- Work closely with technology teams to ensure the ongoing support and maintenance of our current products and services.
- Perform thorough software assurance on Set Top Boxes, Mobile applications, and web platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new products and tooling.
- Verify that products and services meet product and technical requirements, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Develop and maintain high-quality documentation, ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements.
- Execute comprehensive testing for various projects and products to guarantee adherence to product requirements.
- Record and report defects, facilitating swift resolution and prevention of future issues.
- Validate and verify fixed defects or previous failures, assessing their severity and impact.
- Contribute to process improvements, optimizing procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Attend and contribute to meetings and agile ceremonies, fostering collaboration and open communication.
- Promote ideas to improve product quality, driving innovation and excellence.
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
- Prior experience with front-end, back-end, and database technologies (Web, Mobile, TVs, or STBs).
- Understanding of the complete software development life cycle.
- Skilled at creating, maintaining, and executing detailed test cases based on business and technical requirements.
- Able to test and investigate back-end APIs and services using tools like Postman.
- Experience with ticketing, documentation, and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and TestRail.
- Familiarity with creating defect tickets in a standard format with clear details for further investigation or fixing.
- Bonus qualifications include:
- Understanding or experience with broadcast TV technologies – DVB DTT/DSAT.
- Knowledge of Android TV / Google TV.
- Understanding of modern app architecture – client apps, RESTful APIs, cloud services.
- Strong team player and internal networker with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Passionate about content and analytics.
