Job Summary

Misk Schools seeks a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Head of Mathematics and Science Division. The successful candidate will lead the Mathematics and Science departments, overseeing curriculum development, and ensuring that teachers have access to the resources they need to deliver high-quality education.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and staff from diverse backgrounds. They should also have a proven track record of success in leading teams, developing curriculum standards, and implementing effective assessment processes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Mathematics and Science departments, setting strategic goals and objectives aligned with the school's vision.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of curriculum standards, ensuring alignment with international best practices and national regulations.
  • Ensure that teachers have access to the resources they need to deliver high-quality education, including curriculum materials, digital tools, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, providing timely feedback to students, parents, and teachers.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting restorative justice and encouraging open communication among students, teachers, and staff.
  • Develop and implement assessment processes compatible with international best practices and school policy, ensuring that standards/learning outcomes are being achieved in every classroom.
  • Promote teaching and learning styles consistent with the Riyadh Schools High Quality Teaching and Learning Policy, supporting teachers in analyzing students' attainment and progress data to inform their teaching practices.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of school events, activities, and initiatives that promote academic excellence and social responsibility.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Mathematics or Science or related field; PhD preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a mathematics/science teacher or department head in an international school.
  • Proven track record of success in leading teams, developing curriculum standards, and implementing effective assessment processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices in mathematics and science education and instructional technology.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and make informed decisions to drive improvement in student outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • Experience with educational technology platforms, such as Classera or similar systems.
  • Fluency in Arabic language (spoken and written).
  • Knowledge of Saudi Arabian education laws and regulations.
