1. Operate trains from one location to another, adhering to a predetermined schedule and ensuring timely stopovers at designated platforms.
2. Maintain constant communication with control centers to guarantee route clarity and report any issues that may arise.
3. Oversee passenger embarkation, ensuring adherence to established procedures and protocols.
4. Monitor train instruments and gauges to ensure optimal performance and make announcements regarding stations and stops.
5. Ensure compliance with signal instructions.
6. Conduct pre-journey checks on the train's engine to identify potential problems or maintenance needs.
7. Ensure all equipment is in good working order, facilitating efficient train operation.
8. Make destination and passenger announcements, as well as control automatic doors.
9. Maintain liaison with staff to ensure proper seating and loading of passengers and freight.
10. Ensure the train operates at the correct speed throughout the journey.
11. Monitor for engine or route issues and record them in the logbook immediately.
12. Efficiently manage shift changes, alerting drivers to potential problems or concerns.
13. Review log entries from previous drivers to familiarize yourself with potential issues.
14. Record delays that may impact schedules.
15. Alert the control center to any hazards or accidents encountered during the journey.
16. Ensure freight cargo is properly loaded and secured in assigned cabins.
17. Coordinate with railway personnel to ensure assigned tracks and routes are in good working condition.
18. Operate automatic doors for passenger embarkation and disembarkation.
