Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Patent Attorney to join our team at MENA Recruit Pty Ltd. As a key member of our patent practice, you will play a crucial role in supporting the growth and expansion of our regional patent team in the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on all aspects of patent law, including conducting prior art searches and providing patentability opinions for inventions in a diverse range of industrial fields.
  • Support local companies, universities, and individual inventors on patent law principles, patent prosecution, and providing patentability opinions of inventions.
  • Advise on patent portfolios and on patentability of various R&D projects for the oil and gas sector, high technology industries, including ICT, computer/software, electrical/electronics, telecommunications, healthcare, aerospace & defence, optics, biomedical, mechanical, transport, education, energy, financial, artificial intelligence, and blockchain.
  • Draft and file patent applications in a wide variety of technologies; provide patentability opinions and advise on patent portfolio management and filing strategies.
Requirements
  • Native or fluent English speaker with strong communication skills.
  • Relevant degree specializing in physics or mechanical, aeronautical or process engineering through to mechatronics, electrical and electronic engineering.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft and file patent applications and provide patentability opinions.
